AEI Textils participated at the 4th Texmeeting by TEXFOR

MIDWOR-LIFE project partner AEI Textils was present at the 4th edition of the Texmeeting conference promoted by TEXFOR, held in Barcelona (in parallel with the 080 Barcelona Fashion), on June 29th. In this edition, the conference focused on sustainability in the textile industry.

Workshop “Environmental sustainability challenges in the technical textile sector”

AEI TEXTIL organized a workshop on the 21st of June on the topic “Environmental sustainability challenges in the technical textile sector”. Representatives of 25 SMEs and over 30 attendees gathered together at the Textile Museum of Terrassa (CDMT).

The workshop evolved around three main objetives:

  • Presentation of the Catalan technical textile cluster “AEI Textiles”.
  • “Who-is-who” session: 16 companies presented their history, culture and innovation strategy to stay competitive.
  • Presentation of LIFE+ Programme and the MIDWOR-LIFE project as an example of collaboration between Clusters, SMEs and Research Centers to study a problem that affects environmental sustainability all around the globe.
  • Workshop to detect environmental needs and issues to ignite actions that will benefit the technical textiles sector as a whole.
  • Networking lunch.

CSIC-IQAC presents MIDWOR-LIFE poster at IFACC International Congress

Last week CSIC-IQAC presented a poster during the 24th International Congress of the International Federation of Associations of Textile Chemists and Colourists. The abstract of the project has been published in the Book of Abstracts of the XXIV International Congress IFATCC (ISBN 978-80-906086-8-9) and in the scientific journal ‘Vlakna a Textil’.

The journal Vlákna a textil (Fibres and Textiles) is the scientific and professional journal with a view to technology of fibres and textiles, with emphasis to chemical and natural fibres, processes of fibre spinning, finishing and dyeing, to fibrous and textile engineering and oriented polymer films.

See you @ IFATCC XXIV Congress next 13 to 16 of June

The MIDWOR-LIFE partners Institute of Advanced Chemistry of Catalonia (CSIC-IQAC) and CLUTEX will be present at the IFATCC Internacional Congress that will take place next 13 to 16 of June in Liberec, Czech Republic.

CSIC-IQAC will present a poster of the project.

CLUTEX is one of the partners organizing the congress.

AEI TÈXTILS presents MIDWOR-LIFE at CITEXT

AEI TÈXTILS participated at the 16th edition of CITEXT – International Business Convention for Textile and Soft Functional Materials. CITEXT was held on 27th and 28th April in Troyes (France).

MIDWOR-LIFE project was presented in the AEI TÈXTILS booth and brochures were given out to interested visitors.

AEI TÈXTILS at the annual ETP conference

AEI Tèxtils was present at the 11th Annual Conference of the European Technology Platform for the future of Textiles and Clothing which took place on 13th and 14th April in Brussels.

During the Conference, Mrs. Ariadna Detrell, Cluster Manager of AEI Tèxtils and coordinator of MIDWOR-LIFE, introduced the project to other participants and gave them brochures with the project’s information.

MIDWOR-LIFE Kick-off meeting

MIDWOR-LIFE PROJECT STARTS ITS ACTIVITIES

The Project, which will be carried out by a consortium of 6 partners, aims to mitigate the environmental, health and safety impacts of current and future Durable Water and Oil Repellents (DWOR) alternatives by analyzing their environmental impact and technical performance

The starting meeting of MIDWOR-LIFE project took place in Terrassa (Barcelona, Spain) on Wednesday 30th September 2015.

MIDWOR-LIFE is cofounded by the European Community under the LIFE+ Financial Instrument within the axe Environment Policy and Governance and under the Grant Agreement n. LIFE14 ENV/ES/000670, it started on 1st September 2015 and lasts 36 months with a total budget of 931.850 €. Read more
